Banys Arabs, Girona, Catalonia
The ancient ruins of these 12th-century Arab baths are the perfect example of Romanesque civic architecture. Take a tour around the baths, marvel at the tiles and large pillars that support the elaborate ceiling. These well-preserved baths built after the Moor's occupation of Girona are well worth a look!

Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Bilbao, Basque
This huge museum is unique to Spain, American architect Frank Gehry is responsible for this architectural masterpiece, throwing light on the city with a combination of chrome and glass. The museum houses a large collection of modern and contemporary art. The building with a surface area of 24,000 square meters is more than 50 meters high and was built to be slotted into the city landscape without it towering over the neighboring buildings. The was done with modern beauty and perfect interconnecting designs.

Alcazaba of Almeria, Almeria, Andalusia
Look toward the hills of Andalusia and you will see huge stone walls. Built in the 11th century, this Moorish fortress was captured by the Spanish forces during the reunification by Ferdinand and Isabella. This wonderful historic monument attracts visitors from all over the world.

Museum of St. Francis (Museu de Sao Francisco), Porto, Northern Portugal
This eiry catacomb is home to over 30000 human skulls all buried in the cellars below. There are many other curiosities within, including paintings of St Francis, several bishops and other local items of interest

Roman Amphitheater (Anfiteatro Romano), Merida, Extremadura
Visit the ancient ruins, see where the lions used to enter. Sit on the large stone steps and see the stage where many plays took place.
